The movie industry has changed drastically over the years. Due to
the increase of technological advancements movies can be found on the online at
the click of a button. Costello (2019) revealed that smartphones and smart TV’s
revolutionized people’s entertainment. That is to say, the technological
advancements of electronics transformed the way people receive entertainment.
To enumerate, some daily active internet users have subscriptions to Netflix to
be in control of what is watched online. In contrast, Apple’s product created a
new wave of how music is heard. Prior to smartphones, people had access to
music only by purchasing CD’s (Costello, 2019). Meaning, people could only
listen to music if they had a stationary or portable CD player. In particular,
most people before the digital era would purchase a CD at the local general
merchandise store. Without a doubt, technology has shifted the paradigm of the
different ways people consume entertainment.
